Tiresnap - Sidewall Scanner API uses AI to scan a photo of a full or partial tire to detect several markings on the tire sidewall like
- complete tire size
- load & speed index
- DOT
- tire brand and tire line
- car brand & model (using rim design/pattern)
It currently supports passenger cars only. However, enhancements to include trucks and two-wheelers are coming soon.
It can be integrated with various applications where tire size and other key parameters are required as an input. This AI-powered back-end solution avoids manual entry of tire size.
The potential use case for this API is e-retail websites that sell tires online. It will provide a seamless experience on e-retail websites with a new AI-powered solution recognizing tire sizes from tire images uploaded by consumers.
Key features
Tire Types
Supports only Passenger Tires (both mounted & unmounted). Two-wheeler, Truck and other tire types are not yet supported.
Markings Supported
Detects tire size, load index, speed index, tire brand, tire line. It also detects car brand & model from rim design for mounted passenger car tires.
Works with different fonts/sizes
Tire size is mentioned at two places on tire with different font and this API is able to extract both. Also works with different Tire Brand and Tire line fonts/text layout.
Construction types supported
Only R & ZR construction types supported.
